hey guys, im not sure if this is in the right spot, but if it is i apologize.
anyway...my new motor was pulled out of an el and had all the ef running gear put on it...it runs fine..how ever it doesnt have the ef engine mount that the coil pack mounts to..at the moment iv got the coil pack sitting ontop of the fuel rail just infront of the intake...this will not pass pink slip...dose any one have any ideas as to where i can mount it? i dont wana find a ef mount and pull the motor out to put the mount in :/ i was thinking about getting some metal at bunnings and bending it so the coil pack will bolt on to that and using the bolts on the extractors to secure it...but im worried that the heat will melt or wreck the coil pack :/...any ideas any one?

I would have thought you could fit the EF engine bracket & mount the coil without too much hassle?

IE, remove starter motor, support the engine, unbolt the EL engine bracket & remove it towards the rear, then slide in the ef engine bracket(metal part of the mount) and bolt it in, then refit the starter motor.

Anything other than the factory mounting for the coil really shouldn't pass the pink slip.

Cheers

The mount can easily be changed without removing the motor.

you might have a hybrid EL engine , so it would have the small coil like on the AU

au1 is the same coil pack as ef
