I know the E Series Falcons had trouble with camber resulting in uneven tyre wear unless an aftermarker camber caster kit was fitted. Was wondering if the AU's and BA's had the same problem?

if its lowered? then yes you will still need a camber kit, well atleats a few shims on the std mounts to correct the camber..

If its standard you should have no issues.
If you need one but a camber kit for an AU is an hours worth of DIY work anyway. 4x M10x40 high tensile bolts , a dremel and a stick welder and your done.

yes i learnt the hard way,
i purchased a castor kit but the ebay seller shafted me, so i just took it for an alignment. and in my case i didnt need the castor kit after all, as there was enough thread on the std upper arm mounts to use a few shims without needing the castor kit.. then the ebay castor kit arrives a month later

About to lower my AU1. Just using king lows, so will i absilutely need some shims to correct camber or is it a matter of putting it all together and then seeing if i need to do it ?
I have no idea where the shims go so is it a quick job with it together or something i'd want to put in while i have it apart putting the springs/shocks in ? |

If I were you I would go and get a set of BA/BF XR6/8 or F6 or GT Top control arms and add them to your AU. They already have a couple of shims on them and they have longer bolts.
You would definitely need to change both sides and yes, they do fit. I have a set on my AU and they have made it so my tyres DON'T wear on the outer edge. I am sure that Macarthur spares, a sponsor on here, would be able to give you a reasonable price.

lol. I'll look into it, thanks for the info.
%90 of my car parts, even engines, gearboxes etc, were baught from he mainland and freighted down, it's not to bad cost wise and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying anything here
