May seem like a silly question..but my BA XR6 doesn't have a traction control button..does it have traction control stuck on, or no traction control at all? Because unless I really throw it around a corner I can't get wheel spin at all

I think only turbos xr8 and ghia has it standard. If you have no TC switch then your car might be a bit lazy.

my mates XR6 has a traction control button, but even with it on he still spins pretty easy.. I mean, it's not like I'm lacking power, I still beat my mate off the line most times...I just can't get wheel spin. Which gets boring after a while.

Interesting. Well if you have a blank panel under your fog light switch then you dont have TC. Maybe you have better tyres than him .... dunno. BAs are a heavy car also. Keep in mind spinning the wheels on a BA is not a good idea. The CV shafts and the diff are not the strongest things on them.

Yours is probably optioned with an lsd. Or you run a different tyre/tyre pressure.mines hard to spin with Trac control off but it's optioned with lsd.

my fairmont weighed in at just over 1800kgs, a bit harder to get going than my previous falcons under 1400kgs, even with more power.
also the fairmont had TC, turned off it still took some persuasion to get it going half decent on brake. I'm pretty sure they designed them for traction not loss of traction. IRS will always equal average burnouts, ABS will hinder them even more. Don't let it catch you off guard though I've had mine throw the car across the road dropping back into 2nd with the 4speed. Not worth the risk of breakage in my opinion.
