Tim. Just looked it up : TFS107 appears to be the one.
M14 * 1.5 thread (I already have the tap from last time )
Switch 1 : On 90, off 85
Switch 2 : On 97, Off 92.

Cheers

Thanks for Nigel,

You just tapped out an unused thermo bung did you?

I thought 90 may be a little low? How did you find it? I was sure the thermostat opens at 90, so getting it down to 85 to turn the fans off would have never happened? Or it worked ok?

Cheers mate,
Tim

If you were after higher temps the TFS163 and 1164 are also interesting

TFS163 : Sw1 On 95, off 90,Sw2 On 105, off 100
TFS164 : Sw1 On 95, off 90, Sw2 On 120, off 115

.. although they both seem far too high for my liking

Cheer,s
Tim

the one i used was the first one - BMW 7 series at the time although later used in 3 series so more affordable.

I ran lpg and low thermostat so the temps were good.

First time I also tapped the rear of the water pump input as this water is post-radiator. meant that when the water was indeed cooling from airflow it turned off, but was hard to seal.

Next time I tapped the top of the thermostat outlet pipe, exit side of the thermostat. seemed to work ok as well.

Hmm actually i have a new idea for me now. My next use is an EB 5.0 in an XF and i think ill get a boss welded into the inlet hose joiner on the body.

yeah getting a boss welded on would be the way to go for sure... make it so much easier to seal and you put it exactly where you want it... I do like the idea of putting the temp switch after the radiator though... That does make good sense...

Cheers...

on the EB V8 there is a joiner in the lower hose - that would have you sampling temp after theradiator so it would switch on the right temps. I happen to have two of these lying around so that might be a go.

Have a read of ford-v8-f2/thermo-s-on-nc-5l-t98907.html - particularly the posts covering EECIV ECU control.

Cheers for the link, Yea ive heard about people using the EECIV to control the fans, Just seems more trouble than what its worth for me at the moment seeings tho id need a J3 adaptor as well, Really wanted a switch from tridon that i can just put in the unused bung in the thermostat housing. seems like the easiest way. Would it really matter if the switch only controlled 1 speed? I'l still be hooking up a relay to the AC so it comes on when the AC is on. more just wanted to know if this tfs106 is going to fit http://www.tridon.com.au/Products/Produ ... 483&P=2014

Yep, I have enabled fan control in a number of EB/ED V8 ECUs for customers, via a J3 Chip.

Cheers,
