Hey guys,
I have an abundance of e-series 6cyl motors laying around so I have been thinking about have a play around with one. I just want to build a decent N/A motor. How much power is the standard crank and rods capable of? And how hard could the standard bottom end be revved to? Thinking about flat top pistons, head work and a big cam. How much power would this likely give it at the flywheel without pushing it to extremes? Cheers, Shane |

Power depends on how much money you want to spend, the bottom end is fine if you are going to stay NA. You will be able to rev it to about 6200-6300 before you start stressing out the valve train, any more and things can break.
Stock is about 80-110rwkw you can push them past 200rwkw if you do the right mods.

Cheers mate.
Is there anything I can do to the valve train on it to handle higher revs than that? |

Yep you can use a solid cam and lifters with billet rocker gear. Can get very expensive going that way.

There are quite a few Fordmods members with E-Series N/A sixes pushing kws in the 170 and 180 range (see the Dyno Registry under "Resources"). There are a couple examples here too: http://www.bulletperformanceracing.com. ... %20I6.html
