Hi all, I'm new to here and I am the proud owner of my first car which is a Ed Fairmont!
Now the problem is that I can control all the electric windows from the from console switches but the rear switches don't do anything at all. I'm confused and have no idea why they wouldn't be working? Could someone please shed some light on why they wouldn't be working? |

First thing to do is check the rear switches. They might not be connected or have poor connections. Take to door trim off and check the connections

Another obvious thing you can check is that the black square button on the centre switch console is depressed.
That locks the back windows from being used by the door switches.

I have checked both of those to make sure and it still isn't working.
I'm so confused on why the back switches wouldn't be working.. |

Change the switches is the next option I would say. IF you have a mate with the same car do a test run if your worried about wasting the cash. Apart from that maybe a member on here can tell you how to use a multimeter to test the wires going to both switches, I personally dont know.
Inside your door cavity's, its amazing how much moisture and s**t gets in there so for a car thats maybe 20 years old the switches have done well. The back of my Ef's front speakers were rusted to the s**t house when I got it, and all her seals were nice and tight. Power of elimination is your friend when your DIYing mate. Other option is an auto elec, and you may aswell give them your pay cheque to fix the problem. |
