Hye guys. my dads el blew a head gasket so we just put a new engine in it.
Got a low k tickford engine that had the head changed back to a stock one. after changing it over it had no power. We did the timing, changed plus and leads, new o2 sensor, reset TPS, new fuel filter and pump. still runs like a dog has no power at all. Flat to the floor off the line it only revs to 3000rpm then changes gear. and also gets up to the O on the temp guarge really fast. Thermostat opens fine but just acts like its reall struggling. Any help please me and the old man are out of ideas |

Check that the cat is not blocked.

the exhaust note does not sound right, you might be on to something

Took the cat off and it was empty can shine a torch in it and shines out the other side. There is heaps of flow to the rear but the centre box was to hot to even put your hand near even after a lap around the block. Could all the parts from the cat get stuck in the box.

They could have, sometime they blow right through, sometimes not. |

Hot spot on any part of exhaust system usually suggests a blockage of some kind.
