Does it just make a clicking sound? My car used to do this, get a battery charger or a battery jolt and try it. The contacts in the starter solenoid wear out/corrode and won't start without a little extra voltage. You could also tap the starter motor/solenoid while someone tries to start the car.
Hope this helps

Cool, hopefully in your case it is the battery and not the starter motor. Soooo much easier to replace!
