Hi all, i am looking to mod my dash to take a BA cluster, just wondering if any one has tried
this type of conversion and what is involved, or is it near impossible, just want to do something different to the rest.
any info is greatly appreciated. :D

Ok have done some research, i will have to run the ICC and may be the BEM depending on what what dash I end up using BA/FG, I just now need to get a wiring diagram for the dash and ICC to determine where the inputs need to be sourced from, and sensors required. more info soon.

Phisically fitting it is easy, however making it work wont be easy, maybe you could gut a BA cluster and gut an XG cluster and put the XG gauges behind the BA facia.

That is another option I was thinking about, making a hybrid of the two, i just like the look of the BA dashes. Custom wiring is not a problem though, All i need is to get a decent wiring diagram for the ba dash and i can work out the rest, so if anyone has one i would grateful. I should be starting the project soon once i get my hands on a suitable cluster, so i will post step be step guide to do the change weather it be full BA or hybrid.

For a BA Cluster it can be done quite easily as there is no need for connection to other devices to get it to work. You would need to develop a CAN Bus Message device to send the correct CANBUS messages to the cluster though.

As for the FG, that will be more difficult as it is part of the Security System now which means it needs to be connected to the correct vehicle for it to fire up and operate.

Matt

Cheers Matt for the info, I think I will go with the BA cluster as the FG example will be to much to get working properly. I have found a few good BA clusters on ebay so hopefully I will have one soon to get started.
