Just bought a XR6 AU2 and the alarm keypad wasnt working, i followed the steps in one of the threads and now it works, but the drivers door seems to make the noise from the central locking but it doesnt lock or unlock. What can be the problem?

i had same prob in au an in my ba i just bought, there is a small pastic cog on a shaft that turns an unlocks they break, go to ford an get new one , or if u have wreck take out is a easy 10min job.

What can be the problem? Sounds like it is the gear but you WON'T buy one from Ford as they don't sell them. You could buy the gear from Ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-CENTRAL-DOOR-LOCK-ACTUATOR-REPAIR-KIT-AU-BA-BF-TERRITORY-FITS-ALL-AUS-/251147012455?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a79874967and fit it yourself but not guarantee it would last. u could buy all new unit if have money to burn, but just replacing the broken part is simple, an same as wats in the new one . an cant see why it wouldnt last any less.

Well, I sold Car parts for more than 40 years, mainly Ford, and in the last 5 years have had many people come and buy a NEW Lock&Actuator after they bought a gear from Ebay and found that within a few months the lock stuffed up again. There is NO need to be cheap as the new one from the link I left is $133.00. |

I just replaced the whole unit off a wreck and its all fixed. Only cost me $20 bucks
