i got in and had a look while avoiding it raining cats and dogs on me and i pulled it all out and the result was burnt out sender unit, float and arm are all in tack, all the wires and leads in good condition. Wreckers job tomorrow for a new one then hopefully should all be solved. appreciate all the input

Cheers, I guess the start to stall is to take the pressure out of the system right?

I didnt do that i just took the fuel lines off and then after i was finished and put them back on i just let the turned the key to the 2nd turn (where the fuel pump does its thing) then left it for 30 second to clear all air then it was all good.
