There is no quick way to get power from one of those.....it would involve a turbo or going the hard way in N/A.....you will heamorage $$$$$$$.

Agreed +1.
Cheaper to find an XA, B or C, and rip out the 351/FMX/9inch, it fits !!! |

Are you electronically minded? If so, graft an EL efi system into it and buy yourself a j3 chip. Then do the following
C1 carby head - reconditioned with efi valves and throated ports and springs (1000) Camtech CT142-510 cam (400) extractors Should go hard then. Mind you the efi runners will then be the limiting factor and aussie speed manifold and 350 or 500 holley would fix that. You'll burn more money than if you went ohc motor and wade 977b cam though. Depends how much of a crossflow perve you are. |

If you must go down the path, a good cam profile and a nice set of headers will give you good throttle response to start with. Refurb the weber carb or upgrade to CFI but then you have to do electrical work to suit. The xf bits are becoming harder to find nowadays and I am looking fornancentre console in the creamy colour for my mothers car(1985 S pack). The wreckers have a few but are in worse condition than the one already in the car.
Good luck. Hooroo |

Just put a kit through mums weber and was thinking that a later model EFI engine would fix her asthmatic cow of an XF. Good power but leaks like a sieve! Hooroo |
