Wondering what peoples preferences are for mag wheel cleaners? Any specific brands or types of mag wheel cleaner that people recommend? Particularly mag wheels that have a factory painted finish.

My advice is dont use them. I think they are too harsh on modern wheels. I use a sponge and the normal car soap. Used mag wheel cleaner once and my wheels looked like they lost their sparkle from then on.

Sonax, its a german product. $21 a bottle and acid free i believe, works a treat.

Agreed. You have to be very careful if you decide to use one some are not acid free and can do a lot of damage. Just make sure you do a heap of research into what is in each brand. If i were to use one I'd go with Autoglym.

Very good advice and precisely why I have created this thread.

I have sucsessfully used $2 Export engine degreaser, then soapy water to clean VERY dirty wheels, it might not be that good for em, but I've never noticed any issues.

Another recommendation for SONAX mag wheel cleaner.
I've tried many brands and SONAX is by far the best.
They also make a nano technology alloy sealer aswell.
It is hard to find though.
