Hey everyone,
I'm new to the Fordmods forum and would like to start of by saying Hi. I'm thinking of getting new wheels for my nl fairlane in burgundy, at the moment i've got 16 inch dl ltd wheels that i will be selling if i get new wheels. I've had the car for just over a year now and was looking at a set of pre au 18" white fpv cobra wheels I have lowered my car on ultra lows in the back and supers in the front, so it sits fairly nicely. Now since im looking at 18" wheels i've got a few queries. I take it, being ford wheels set to pre au that they would sit nicely in the wheel hubs? Will these wheels/tyres scrub because my lane is so low? Would i have to roll the guards? And maybe flair the guards? If anyone has a picture of these wheels on there fairlane it would be great , I've seen them on falcons but none on a fairlane. Any help on this topic would be awesome. Thankyou Fairlane98 |

when you sell the 16" LTD wheels, make sure you advertise them on ebay, as they are highly sought after by limousine mobs
nothing less than $600 even with bare rims i would be looking for. |

Forgot to add to my topic earlier,
what issues would i have if i went 18" wheels? And would i need anything else, like would they bolt straight on or do need to modify something? Thanks fairlane1998 |

I've got a set of 18x8 BF GT copies in E series offset on my NL, which is pretty low. Straight bolt on. I have 235 fronts and 265 rears, never scrubbed, but front guards are rolled. Plenty of clearance front and back though. Probably would be ok even without rolled guards.
I posted a few pics in the e series wheels thread in this sub forum, should be on the last page. |

Looks good
Yours does sit pretty low, mines around the same maybe a little lower, good to know you have plenty of clearance being that low and having big wheels. Might roll the front guards to be sure, was probably going to put either 225/40R18 or 235/40R18 toyos. Thanks for the reply Cheers fairlane1998 |

If only I had tailshaft clearance. With the extra power its now making its hit the floor on a full throttle upshift twice, so i'm adding 10mm coil spring spacers and a diff nose bump stop to try to eliminate the problem.

hey mate i dont think you should have any troubles with fitting those wheels on your lane ive got a DL LTD that ive just taken my 18s off and put on some 19" FG XR8 rims and all ive had done is my guards have been rolled and its sitting quite low (compressed SSL in rear im pretty sure possibly UL) but i dont have any problems with rubbing or anything. if u get them post a pic up im sure they will look nice with the lanes body
