Hey all looking for tenths on the track and apparently the Cleveland has high cylinder pressure can this be altered by different lash settings on the springs?

for more compression you need to reduce combustion chamber size, thicken fuel going into camber

gassa

Static comp is at 13 to 1 tuned on AV gas
Cam @ 50 is 248 in & 256 ex
My question is if the exhaust side opens up earlier (thru valve settings) is their going to be any benefit on the cylinder pressure to run faster
Car runs 11.10 @ 122 mph chasing top qualify posi in super street class where do I find more power?

Theoretically, if your exhaust timing is earlier you would reduce cylinder pressure by increasing overlap unless, your rpm was greater. I would say test it out in both directions. What range can you set your valve lash at without hurting things? I assume you've already experimented with total cam timing adjustments?

Piston to valve was 200" thou so the 18" thou standard setting on the rockers can be tightened 2 to 4 thou without a worry.??? ( I presume )
Next time I'm down we'll tighten them up do a few passes see where we end up?
Cam timing settled on 26 deg
24' 11.4 @ 118
28' 11.4 @ 116
26' 11.3 @ 118
26' 11.1 @ 122 ( with carb leaned off a bit according to color on plugs ) don't think good idea to lean off any more
7k changes crossing line at 6700

Well it's worth a go. PV clearance shouldn't be a problem on the exhaust side, only intake which, you're not changing.
I was talking about cam timing. It seems you are listing ignition timing?

Cam timing isn't getting moved! To good a seal on the sump don't want to f**k it up
Set 1 deg adv each tooth worth 2 been told should have done on retard side but too late.
Maybe next time.

LSA???
Idle or valve lift has no relevance to the question.

Lobe Separation Angle. Maybe let us know your cam specs?
Ignition timing does make a difference as you've noted already. Changing your lash does, in fact, effect lift.
