looking at the penrite website and serching the specifications, there was a different diff oil for the falcon, fairmont eb sereies II to el 4.0L AND falcon xr6 section.
As i have a series two fairmont ghia i would assume that it would be the one with the fairmont but just checking as it has an xr6 engine so i don't know if it has the xr6 diff?

Can somebody verify this for me?
It reccomended LIMSLIP 90 for the fairmonts is this what i should use?

Thanks, dyl.

I spose if you had the ticky motor from factory they would have put the LSD in too, stick your head under the car and have a good look at diff housing see if you can see LSD tag on there. otherwiase do a burnout. if its a LSD use limslip 90. theres no difference in a xr6 lsd than a factory lsd (maybe ratio?) if that is what you are asking

yeah she has an lsd but just wasn't sure if it would be the same but pretty sure that it would be the one out of the fairmont not the xr6 if there is any difference just they had different types suggested on the website?

i just went to the penrite site to see for myself. confusing hey?, to make it even more confusing the bloke from ford told me to use limslip 90 in my XR6 not SYN GEAR 80/140 as the site says. Oh well, all is well.

I recently had to do the same thing
i fitted an XR diff to my car, had to change the fluid.

i used the 80-140 as specified, rather then using the limslip 90.
diff has been perfect since the fluid change.

the fluid needed changing as the diff started chattering.
