Gday guys and girls. I have recently purchased the Boss 290 out of a BF and am looking at putting it into my XH ute. I am after a bit of guidance in relation to if the motor will fit easily enough into this engine bay. Also does anyone know if it is reasonably easy to get a new lume+harness?

Yeah I knew that it will be significantly higher but I have in place a mate who can fabricate my bonnet to fit the engine.

From memory some one on here has looked into doing it but the heads are to big and intrude into the shock towers. But with enough time and money it could definitely be done

Not this again!
If a 6.8 V10 can fit in my ED and XG, a 5.4 certainly will... A coyote Crate engine from Ford racing is a better idea though because they are lighter, more powerful, smaller(4.6 deck height), and you can get a street rod harness/PCM package that will make it easy to do. And here in my XG van... |
