Hi guys I plan to put a 1999 AU xr 6 (1) engine into my EF I have read & plan to do all mods "sump" knock sensor & so forth as mentioned on here BUT my question is DO I use my EF torque convertor or do I run the AU one ? any advice most appreciated

It doesnt matter, AFAIK, they'll be the SAME.

Tried to fit an AU convertor to an EFII and it bound up on the crank. May have been an AUIII but not sure. Fitted an EF convertor to an AU motor with no issues.

generally unless its been changed, the converter/ box from ea 4speed 87le up to ef with dip stick usually have the shorter input on the converter, then the 93le without dipstick up to au3 has the longer input on the converter..
but due to the age of these things now, boxes get swapped and reco'd so best to use the converter thats in the box your going to use.. |
