Hi all I recently bought a CRS bellhousing second hand, so that I can fit a I6 T5 to my injected V8. It's all lined up great gearbox is mounted up fine, but I now have gone to install my starter motor but it doesn't go in far enough to engage the flywheel. Now the flywheel is from an AU V8 (been told that's the same as Eserie V8) an I contacted CRS an they said my flywheel may be to small? But from what I can see the flywheel is the right size but the starter motor has to go in about 8-10mm to reach the flywheel. Was thinking maybe a I6 starter might work? Don't know how different they are to V8. Was hoping someone had used one of these perticular bellhousings an could shed some light on it for me. I do have pics but there crap (damn iPhones!!) but will upload one soon. Any help is appreciated cheers

Is the bellhousing for a 3 bolt starter or a 2 bolt starter?
You may of bought a bellhousing for a cleveland by accident. It will bolt straight up to your windsor but will be too big as they are sized to allow for the bigger cleveland flywheel.

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around! |

I bought the bellhousing off NUT347 (member on here an boosted I believe) he was selling it as a EB-AU T5 bellhousing then found out it bolts a I6 T5 to a V8. The bellhousing has 3 bolts holes an my starter only has 2 but has a pin/metal dowel that fits into the 3rd bolt hole on the bellhousing. Wherent early V8s hydraulic clutch? This is clutch cable bellhousing.

Josh is a mate of mine. Sounds like your running a wrong starter.

All V8's I've seen have had 3 bolts retaining the starter.
