is ya negative terminal ment to heat up when cranking the motor please help

How long are you cranking for ?

If its about over 30 seconds then yea it should heat up touch warm or a little more

But if not then it still should heat up

Also when you drive the car touch the terminal after 20-25min and see if its hot hot ? if so then the alternator must be charging it meaning there was not much juice in it

If you have a charger maybe charge it over night at 2amp or so just to top it up then see

Any heat generated on the terminals would be due to high resistance. Check your battery posts and terminals are clean and free of any corrosion or buildup. Also make sure the terminal is firmly fastened so that there is no small air gaps which might cause arcing.

It could also be due to a bad earth connection on the actual engine block, or a bad earth strap. You can check the connection onto the engine block and also consider replacing the earth lead or adding an additional one.
