Hello, I've got a 2002 ford falcon au series 3 ute, I've just noticed when I put a cd in it won't play anything an it will eject 5-15 seconds later, anyone know why?
(Ejects any/all cds)
The radio works fine so I don't know why the CD player isn't working.
(The head unit is factory).

Yep head unit is rooted.
It's a common thing on them.

The head unit in my AU3 ute is doing the same thing but only on certain CD's...I think it hates heavy metal
I put a cleaner through it (One of those lens cleaner discs with the 2 small brushes on it) but it still refuses to play some of my CD's. I think it's time for a new one that likes my choice of music.

Bear in mind its obviously a common fault and this may be the player warning you its time to look around.
I dont know what the players are like in the Au's, but if its a single din now days you can pick up a new decent mp3 player for under $100 ( Sony, JVC, Pioneer) and it would s**t all over the stock au one. Everythings there ( constant/accessory/earth wires), I cant see it being an expensive or hard job for you if it does go.

Hey Revcore, if your player dont like metal make sure when you do take it out you piss all over it, stomp it, cover it in fuel and then set it alight. Bastard Beber player

You read my mind...It's gonna cop one hell of a hiding when it comes time to replace it. I'll take some pics of it laying on the concrete smashed in a million pieces
