Hi, my ac compressor is beyond repair. I have had a look at the prices online and in store and get the feeling I am being ripped off with the price ranging from $500 to $800. When in the US they are around $200 for similar units.
Does anyone know if there is a compatible universal compressor for the sanden trf105 in use in the EA EB and NA ? Also the other option is one from the wreckers for around $80 but not sure how reliable that will be. Regards Barry

It is useless comparing prices between the US and Aus.
Prices you have quoted are what you will pay for a new unit. your other option is to check with your local Auto AC mob and ask for a price for reconditioning. New unit on Ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Air-conditio ... 416f89bd64 |

Can the compressors from the wreckers be trusted considering how easy the seals are to fail?
My compressor can't really be rebuilt, the bolts at the front lost there torque and when I tighten them up to the torque specified by the manufacturer two bolts near the leak broke off. Regards Barry

either pay like $50 and take the gamble. Or pay the $500. Just get one of a car that the A/C system is still all intact. So you know it hasn't been sitting there open to the atmosphere.
