Would it really be that hard? surely the only difference would be the actual box itself, and the shifter??
Has anyone done this, or know anything about it??
Cheers

On The V8 we are led to believe its just a matter of bolting in the new box. According to ford if your car was produced after 11/2003 the driveshafts have the same part number as teh new 6 speeds so you should be able to drop it straight in

Look up Mal wood in queensland on the net. He does them. They can either add extra gear to yours or exchange.

Ditto what paulhowes says.

Mal has a few kits all made up ready to go now (I was speaking to him last night about a kit for a XR6T)

The gearbox should only cost about $8k.
Might be wise to spend money on other modes rather than $8k for one more gear. Just a suggestion.
I suppose you will consider this once you get the quote.
