i was taking out the old speedo drive gear (the green thing) but it didnt have a clip connecting it to the sender and it fell into the gearbox will it harm the gearbox ?

Auto or Manual? The best thing to do is take off the rear extensions housing and take it out. Some may say it will be ok but I wouldn't trust it. You will need a new gasket or at least glue the old bugger back on.
If you raise the back wheels to do it you should not lose any fluid. |

auto mate i just left it in there had to move my car out garage and it doesnt fit to keep in there so hoping it doesnt stuff it so anyway i moved it out nothing stuffed yet but might stuff it when i take it for a proper drive what could happen papa smurf ?

It COULD find it's way onto the speedo drive gear and driven gear and root them. I wouldn't leave the clip in there too long is all.
