 Post subject: DF LTD 5.0L ELECTRICS ISSUES /EXTREME CAUTION

Where do I start
Ok first , factory cd stacker stops working correctly then boot release button decides to give up as well as the smartlock boot button, factory radio volume goes nuts (its possesed) hold on theres more
Occasionally start engine no electrics in car , no lights no windows no radio nos seat adjust
Turn car off and on get electrics bak
Finally the battery decided to die
Do I need a priest or I am missing something
Im placing a new battery and put a brand new altenator ($750))
Pls help need car for work and transporting kids to and from school

The first places I'd check are your battery earth connection and the earth strap on the engine block. Many random electrical bugs are due to poor earths.

Forgot to mention , I get s":* loads of water in the boot lid every time it rains
Its also dual fuel , recently replaced fuel pump , normally runs on lpg

Definitely check all the grounds.

Check fuses and breakers in the dash fuse panel, reseat them.

Try wiggling the key in the barrel between the positions, can you replicate it? Could be the barrel/switch if the electrics have no power.

The BEM is a possibility too.

Honestly, take it to an auto electrician. He will probably know where to look and how to fix it. Likely to end up cheaper than trying to fix it yourself by replacing parts!

The bootlids fill with water and drop it when you open then, thats common. Not sure why.
