What is the procedure for a March 1994 ED Falcon Smartlock programming and adding new remotes
I had to repair my steering column lower bush that secures the column to the firewall . It was a prick of a job as the whole steering column had to be remove and totally disassembled to get to the bush area. The old bush just didn't exist and the steering had excessive play. When I bought the car I didn't get any remotes with it and now I have two news and a spare keys . I'm getting the car ready fro a RWC to transfer it over to my name from the previous owner. I had a browse in the Fordmods Technical Documents section of the forum but nothing that seemed to relate to a ED or I missed it If anyone could guide me in the procedure of programming the new ignition barrel and remotes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

how to program new smart lock keypads...
Up to four Keypads can be programmed and used with the Smartlock Remote Central locking system. or new keypads are being added to the system, you will need to train the keypad codes to the module. 1. The ignition switch should be in the Off position, with all the doors shut and Unlocked. 2. Turn the ignition key to the ACCESSORY position and within 5 seconds, press the boot button three times in quick succession. After the 5 seconds is up, the door locks will change state, to indicate that the smart lock system has entered keypad learn mode. NOTE : All existing keypads at this point, have been erased from memory ! 4. Press either buttons on the keypad that is to be trained. The door locks will change state twice, to indicate that the keypad has been added to the smart lock memory. 5. Follow step 4. for each keypad that is to be added to the smart lock system memory. A maximum of 4 keypads can be added to the smart lock memory.NOTE : You must teach all remote keypads for the Smartlock module, before proceeding. 6. When you have thought all the remote keypads, turn the ignition to the Off position to leave the learn mode. The door locks will change state to indicate a return to normal mode. 7. Check the function of both buttons on each keypad, to ensure that the keypad has been trained. hope this helps

once fitted leave the ignition on/engine off for atleast 30mins or until smartlock light stops flashing and stays illuminated, now you can start your beast.

Also the door locks will cycle over once the procedure has finished

EB to ED = Boot Button EF to EL = Rear Demister Button AU = (thinking also Rear Demister Button) Smartlock ran from late EBI (VERY) late to AU One.
