Hi guys,

Recently sold my na fg xr6.
Kept the flash tuner as I could not flash the previous vehicle back to stock as it was running st 4 atomic cams.

I now have a mk2 fg xr6t and was wondering if the device can be used again on my new vehicle. I jave been told it is locked to the previous vehicle but was wondering if it can be reset or something so that I don't just have a $700 paperweight please help!

Nope. should have been sold with the vehicle. It is useless to anyone else.

That sucks big time might text the purchaser and see if he wants it for $200 how disappointing.

should just have given it to him with the purchase of the vehicle. If he takes those cams out your original stock tune will be on there too.

Yeah didn't realise aye. Probably should have checked earlier. I did reduce the price for the bloke though and chuck in everything I had swapped out for upgraded parts which I could have made money back on ebay for, so I think 200 is pretty fair.

I need more info on this because some forums are saying that it can be sent back to sct to be cleared. does sct have the facilities for this in Australia? or would it have to be sent back to the U.S?

General Information
X3 Power Flash VIN locks to a single vehicle. You cannot use the device to tune a new
or different vehicle, until you have returned the original vehicle back to stock, which will
unlock the device. You can only change vehicles 5 times before the unit is
permanently locked.
Standard pre-programmed tuning files are designed for vehicles with minor
performance modifications such as; cold air kits, high-flow exhaust systems, and other
basic modifications. Vehicles that have aftermarket superchargers or turbochargers
will require custom tuning.
Both firmware and software updates will be made available periodically for the X3
Power Flash and are available in the “Support” section of the SCT website -
www.sctflash.com and the “SCT Flash Tuning” section of the Herrod Motorsport/SCT
