Hello guys I have an EL GLI and I put a Fairmont trip computer in, it had the loom there but for some reason it will only light up when I push a button, and when its in there is a weird clicking sounds from the dash, any ideas or thoughts?

did you run a data line from pin 14 on the right hand side of the instrument cluster to pin one?

No! but I will now lol So I can use just a thin piece of automotive wire, splice into the 14 pin connecter on the data wire and run it to the data line wire or the loom that's in the trip?

you wont have a wire in pin 14 on the instrument cluster, you have to add it. you can pull another connector apart to use the pin out of that or you can do what some people do and just jam the wire into pin 14. the plug at the trip computer will a plug for the clock. have a re-read of the tech doc, it should help you out.

But I need a piece of wire to go from the 14pin to the trip, why would they put a loom there that does all but light the stupid thing up? FL

Easiest way i found was to go to a wrecker chop off the dash loom connector, take it home and use the pins out of it, it was as easy as clip, clip connect the wire plug plug PLAY
