Hey guys I'm looking at doing a manual conversion when I put my new engine in, also upgrading to LSD. What sort of revs will I be doing @ 110kph with 3.7's? I have on 17's at the moment.
Cheers guys.

I know when I went from 3.23"s to 3.45"s my NF went from 2000 to 2200 and I figured that with 3.7"s it would be 2360 and with 3.9"s it would be 2480 all at 110.

Fairlane6970 - How did the 3.45 perform compared to the 3.23? I have a 3.45 (From an XR6) and a 4.11 Diff ready to go in but cannot decide what to use. I am really after off the line performance and i do travel at 110kmh (a bit more if im enjoying myself). What im asking is, is the 3.45 a noticable change? or should i go the 4.11? Thanks, Nathan.

Having manual and 3.45 diff gears is as far you wanna go. Otherwise 2nd won't even reach 100.

Was noticeable but not earth shattering but 4.11s would be a bit much on hwy

3.23 diff gears with a T5 manual. At 110km/hr, it sits at around 2000RPM...maybe 2100RPM.
If you plan on doing a lot of highway driving, for the purpose of fuel economy, I'd say 3.45 with T5 should be a good, although 3.23 might be better. A lot of metro driving, 3.7s should be fine...4.11 is too much IMO...you'd be shifting gears like a truck.

depends what T5 your running
i ran 3.73 with an EA-EBI T5 and was alot of fun at first, but after awhile the really short gearing was a pain, i hated it. Can only reccomend 3.45 diff for this box. However 3.73 behind the EBII-EL T5 would be perfect imo as its got the slightly taller gearing. |
