Some time ago I replaced the entire diff assembly with another. I removed all disc pads as well as replace park brake shoes.
I have adjusted the park brakes using an adjusting tool, I thought this would take up the slack. Unfortunately the handbrake lever still goes past 7 to 8 notches or as far as it can go to stop the vehicle from rolling. I was under the assumption the vehicle should not roll when handbrake lever is on notch 3. Does anyone know how this can be achieved? Cheers |

if the shoes are as close to the drum as possible (without rubbing of course),
check to see if you have any more adjustment at the brake lever inside the car, there is a 10mm nut that can be adjusted to take slack out of the cable.. |

Troyman,
Thanks, I'll have a look and see if there is. Is the slack (if any) taken up inside the vehicle? It was very tight when I connected the brake cable (from the park brakes) to central connection. Cheers |
