Cheers cjh, I remember now it was your build thread that i seen the EA cam haha. So for lower down, as in 0-100, do you think the EA cam is better?

Hard to say really......maybe the EA cam for towing.....I towed a car from Geelong to here, Rocky....it went really well, sat on about 3,200 rpm, 4th gear, 3.27 gears....didn't miss a beat.

Well i'm getting the XR6 cam for free, and down at the wreckers i can pull a cam out of an EA and then just have to try both and see which one suits me better haha.

i dont want to rubbish nason at all i use there products all the time. but i bought a set off ebay brand new from nason and they tick and two have come apart in a otherwise standard ed gli. will probly get some curry for this and thats fine just dont be too harsh.

Just the other day I went to fit a set of Nason lifters I bought new about 18 months ago - and discovered straight out of the packets that the swivel ends on 2 of them were collapsed into the body - and the plungers in 3 others wouldn't spring back out when I compressed them (dry). I guess the plungers that wouldn't spring back out would prolly come good with a soak in oil and bit of working (you can make hydraulic lifters pump in and out by carefully pushing in the ball with a very small probe of some sort), but I couldn't get round the collapsed swivel ends. All 12 into the bin and back went the original factory ones...

I just had CVE put the Atomic lifters in mine. They are $220 a set and they are working fine at the moment.

I'll be going for those lifters if the Nason ones tick. Pulled em out the box and they all seem okay, but wont know what they're really like until in the engine obviously... by the way if anyone hasn't looked in my build thread, i went with an EA cam and it seems to go up hills easier... and it seems ever so slightly louder from the exhaust...
