Hi,
I just purchased a full leather interior (front and back seats, door cards etc) out of a written off 08 FG XR6 for my 09 FG XR6. Quick question - Can anyone recommend a good quality motor trimmer near Melton Vic for fitment? Should be an easy swap over, both the old and the new seats have airbags fitted. Also, does anyone know if the standard XR6 interior goes into a standard FG sedan? My nephew owns one so might pass the old interior on to him. Thanks in advance. |

Ok when you say you bought an interior did you buy the complete seats? Or did you just get the Covers off the seats. If you bought the complete seats it should be resonably easy to swat the interior out your self. You just need some screw drivers and a TORQ set for the seat bolts. I think there's a tutorial on the forum here somewhere that walks you through step by step.
If you just got the seat covers its still a resonably easy job to do yourself also. The only motor trimmer I'd use is Blackmans in Moorabbin/cheltenham if you would prefer to not do the work yourself. As far as fitting the XR interior into a XT. If you bought the seats complete then Yes they will bolt in and be fully functional. If you bought the covers then the XT seat Foam is differently sculpted to the XR and will not be a direct fit. (Correct me if i'm here guys) In any case Good luck.

Thanks mate, appreciate the reply.
Seats are complete and are now in. Old interior yet to be fitted into XT but hopefully should be an easy fit. |

yes fg seats are interchangeable across all sedans. changing the seats is easy as pie, very easy to do yourself. door trims just need a phillips screwdriver and some common sense and thats easy too.
