G'day people,
I have an AUII year 2000. Could someone provide me with a photo or other assistance as to how the belt is placed. I have removed the belt which goes around the crank, idler, water pump, aircon unit, power steering and alternator as it was starting to crack. I purchased a new belt...Bosch Ribbed V-Belt 6PK2380. I thought I had placed in back in the correct orientation but looks like it's too big. I tried to put the old one back in and it now too big. I looked at the diagram in one of the repair manuals but when following the manual it did not seem right. I should have paid more attention as to how the belt was fitted. Cheers |

Thanks mate, photo shows it a lot better in perspective / clearer than book does. Cheers. Troyman I've also seen the diagram under the bonnet, unfortunately mine is not clear enough. Cheers |

Thanks for the assistance.
The new belt which I thought was too big is the correct size. The photo showed me the correct orientation, the saying "a picture says a thousand words" does put it into perspective. Up and running, good as gold. Cheers |

Mad2,
Your partner's drive belt snapped whilst in motion....wow, I reckon the belt must have got to the stage of being knackered. Yep, it helps when you can see how it's fitted on another vehicle. Much better than Gregory's Falcon No 274 or Max Ellery Falcon / Fairlane 1998 - 2002 E.P. F042 manuals instructions. Once again, thanks for the pic. Cheers, |
