Hey guys, for the past 2 years or so my 1999 au falcon futura has been drinking water/coolant. About a year or so ago I replaced the radiator and water pump and the problem was only refilling every week or two. Over the past week it's been getting worse and worse to the point I can barely drive the car for 20 minutes without the coolant bottle being dead empty.. I recently bought an au falcon wagon for spare parts so hopefully I will be able to pull the parts off that but I'm stumped on what it could be as there are no leaks?

most likely you need to replace your head gasket

Is there anyway I can figure that out for sure without having to pay someone to tell me?

Fill the coolant bottle right up, leave the lid off, run the engine. If it just keeps on bubbling it will be a crook head gasket or head. If there are no puddles on the ground and there is no coolant in your oil, the only place it can be going is into your combustion chamber. Does white "smoke" come from the exhaust? Probably steam..... Pull the head of buddy!

how old is the radiator cap??
put the coolant overflow hose in a bottle and drive it a bit then check the bottle, if the bottle has coolant in it it either has a bad radiator cap or its pressurising the cooling system which leans towards a head gasket problem |

I'm definitely leaning towards the head having better days by the sounds of it.. The radiator cap is around 12 months old by the way
