G'day all,
today i ended up taking the old exhaust off my eb, it was some sort of lukey (had it stamped on the cat) and managed to install it on my AU, got all the rubber mount things off and reinstalled them without a worry, re welded the exhaust just above the diff, managed to keep the existing gasket from the au and put this back on also started the car once i had finished and sounded great, took her for a little spin and holy hell i get a massive vibration through the car and particulary under the drivers seat, Im wondering what could be causing this, i managed to get two of the rubber mounts on, but because of the bodykit i couldn't get the last rubber mount where the tail pipe is (muffler tip is to big) i also did notice but didn't think to much of it at the time, when i picked up the sports exhaust from the eb there was some sort of rattle (sounded like something moving around) in the cat? just wondering now if this could be something to do with it, has abit more go in her now, and sounds great, just alot of vibration cheers all for any help,

My guess is that the exhaust is hitting the underbody when you're torqing the motor. Does it do it when your stationary and load the car up in drive? If it does, load it up in reverse and see if it still does it.

the rattle from the cat means its stuffed, but the vibration will be the exhaust touching somewhere

sounds like you have already diagnosed it, stuffed cat seems to be the order of the day. if its bad enough, yes you will hear it in the car. otherwise get back under there and check for any new signs of wear on the system

depends on the cat used. I am running 2 x 100cpi barrel cats, i think they set me back $100 each and $50 install. just depends what you go for as to what its going to cost

Yeah, Gabs got a point, you will hear a cat sometimes, but you will only feel a vibration if its hitting on something, get under and have a look.
