Hi guys i have a BA XR8 manual & for the couple of months it plays up occasionally. Every now & then it will idle rough & idle low around 400 to 500 rpm & stall some times when down shifting or stopping but doesn't seem to loose power when i put the foot into it. This will happen every day for about a week or so then all of a sudden it will come good again for about a week or so then will play up again same thing this has happened about 6 or 7 times so far. but the car has been good for the last 3 or 4 weeks untill today when i went to drive it, back to the same thing low, rough idle & stalling occasionally....
Any suggestions where to start would be appreciated...........

OK, it could be the HEGO sensors, located in the Engine Pipes, you could have bad coils, bad plugs, dirt in the fuel, the throttle body or the TPS being temperamental.

My first thing would be to put a new fuel filter on it, especially if it has been a while since changing, and maybe just a set of plugs and have the coils checked to see if they are breaking down under load. They would be the cheapest items to start with.
