I have picked up a set of front and rear ba xr cloth seats and door cards.

Planning to fit the fronts up, had a good look at things and with a bit of grinding and welding they wont be a problem, will also connect the electrics on the drivers seat, just 2 wires red (switched +12v) and earth. And swapping the au seat belt stalk onto the new seats.

Originally I wasn't going to bother with the door cards or rear seats but now i'm thinking they will look nicer than the series 1 forte stockers.

has anyone had a crack at the door cards or rear seats?

I can see i'm going to need 4 ba interior door handles, 2 rear plastic ba door grab handles, ba drivers door lock stalk and front driver and passenger window switches.
I also realise the front door cards will need modding to allow clearance of the dash.

Hope to get some response, cheers.

Front trims wont line up with dash. back seat should be straight swap.

due to a lack of time this conversion has been on the back burner until now.

i have decided to save myself the hassle of changing the door cards and rear seats and have since sold the rear seat and door cards.

i am going to go ahead with just the front seats.
i'm just about to fab the new mounts.

can anyone tell me the nearest/easiest place to find accessory 12+ power for the electric drivers front seat?

under the dash!

use a test light to find it,

although depending on how much power the seats need
you may need a relay to do it all

front passenger seat is in.

new mounts made. 20x3mm flat bar sides and 50x3mm flat bar bases, mig welded. all holes measured and drilled with 14mm bit.

removed ba seat belt pretensioner and replaced with original au part, had to drill out captive nut and tap with 7/16-20 thread.

looks alright i think.
