Unfortunately that won't work. You need to disable Smartlock in order to get remote start to work.

As far as I know there are two ways of doing this (however my knowledge here is dated - I'm not really modifying cars anymore):

1. Go to the wreckers and get a second ignition barrel and key. Plug the Smartlock loom (little 4 wire plug going to the existing barrel) into the new barrel, turn the new barrel key to ignition and tell the ECU to learn it. Once learnt, leave this key permanently switched to ignition. This will mean as far as Smartlock is concerned the ignition is always on and therefore the immobiliser disabled. Cable tie this second barrel up under the dash or something and you're good to go.

2. Purchase a Smartlock bypass box. I remember vaguely some company making Smartlock bypasses although I have no more information than that.
