Sorry... but nobody seem to know or have any.
What are the 4 screws that hold the top engine cover onto the inlet manifold on the V8. I go to the Ford parts counter and the book gives me rubbish. Are they Torx ? Do they have a taper at the bottom ? If somebody can tell me exactly what they are .. size, length, thread, head, AF/Metric I should be a able to source some new ones.. Correct Ford part number ? TIA Peter |

If it is a series 2 with the explorer manifold its the same as an AU.
The ones on my AU are torx I can tell you that much right now.

I have the 16" Mags... so I suspect that it is the Series 2.
Torx ? I saw a screw at the wreckers once .. but that means nothing. Any ideas on the length, thread etc ? Is the ford catalog available on-line ? Cheers Peter |

Not much else I can help you out with as I am not going outside to pull the car apart in the dark to get you a screw measurement. I have seen plenty of screws. I was going to see another one tomorrow when I pulled it out to get a picture and a measurement for you , but you want to be a a*** so sort it out yourself.

I re-read my post and ... you are indeed correct. I was an a**hole. Many apologies... That
was rude. In penance, I grabbed that aforementioned torx screw I got from the wreckers (1 of) and re-cut the threads in the manifold that had damaged by the previous owner using some crappy self-tapper.. And this was by torch light in the darkness For completeness... The screws appear to be counter sunk Torx head. 15 mm by 4 mm. Please tell me that they match your recollection.... A couple of photos attached. Again .. apologies for the rudeness... Peter Attachment: Attachment:

Tx for that... will keep it in mind..
I was fortunate enough to get some from a really good wrecker in South Australia. I would give him plug if I could remember who it was. He also had a driver's side door lock. Amazing.. The closest non-car place I could find was security screws for attaching security screens to the outside out windows..... bit a lot of them have a pin in the middle now Tx Again Peter PS. Petrol is for washing parts. Alcohol is for drinking NITRO is for racing. |
