Thought I would provide my experience at converting the EF Fairmont dashboard general lights to LED.
Preparation ;
Pull it apart - down to the white plastic based assembly Remove dials and needles (they just pull off - very easily) With a Stanly knife cut the connector latches off the female sockets. (makes plugging and unplugging the wiring loom real easy). T10 http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/search. ... og=#search T10 (White front side lights) http://www.dhgate.com/t10-9-smd-car-lig ... ide-marker /p-ff808081304a1d4501304f03d55335ab.html T5 http://www.dhgate.com/t5-1-5050-smd-led ... 41305.html Extract your good dash (see other threads in these forums for instructions) Now with LED's in hand (well near by) Insert some LED's into the spare dash Plug it into the loom turn on park lights and see which ones work - Use a permanent marker to note which side faces the outside of the dash (that way you can transfer it straight to your good dash The ones that didn't work rotate 180 deg and try again. They should all work (baring faulty LED - rare). Confirm they now work - mark them as before. Note: I left all the other lamps as standard - couldn't figure out how to do a lamp test. You really need to know they work before reassembly. Transfer all LEDs to your good dash. I also replaced the high beam with a Blue LED, Indicators with green LEDs. Changed the foot well bulbs as well to blue. NOTE: You will see on my spare dash I over tightened the odometer screws - see the result I'm pleased with the end result of a few hours work have a modern looking dash for around $60 See attachments for the results. Nice job. I had blue LEDs in the footwells, center console light and the map reading lights in my Fairmont. Never had the chance to the dash though. Might give it a crack on my track car.

I did mine recently. Really makes the car stand out at night, as well as a really relaxing place to be.
The car at night. Much bluer in real life. Blue front and rear footwell lights, trip computer, dash cluster and ceiling lamp. The dash cluster. I've since changed the LED's to milti-LED's, so the dark spot on the tacho is now lit up. I'll try and get a new photo tomorrow night. I didn't change the odometer, as I like the colour contrast. Trip computer.

Not sure what he's used, but when I did my dash cluster, I asked around for the best multi-LED's and bought some from eBay (each 'globe' had 3 LED's on it) and replaced all factory globes+holders with new LED's. I used six all up for the main gauges, kept the odo because I like the contrast personally.
I used two single blue LED's for the trip computer.
