If you've one or both mild bolt ons like an intercooler upgrade, or a catback exhaust, it will hit boost cut when it's under load, like 2nd or 3rd gear. You will need a tune to sort this, and should look at upgrading your fuel pump as stated.. I'd recommend getting some injectors, a Walbro, a cat, and go from there.
*** Just re-read your username.. guessing you have all this and more... *** |

I had that @ around 5000rpm & it turned out that the tuner had left the transmission torque reduction at the standard setting. The ECU was reading the high Revs & freaking out & it started overriding the FBW throttle, timing & fuel.
Symptoms: Vehicle goes like a Rocket up to 4500-5000rpm & then it coughs/splutters & feels like it is starving for fuel or the spark is breaking down. But if you just back off the throttle a little when it happens & then sink the boot once again it picks up & goes like a rocket as if nothing is wrong.. Took a while to sort this problem out & was only fixed when I switched to a different tuner. |

Tighter plug gap can fix spark blow out issues..
