ok, so i have a 2002 ba fairmont. 5.4lt auto. had a whine in the rear end so after some reasearch and confirmation from a diff place i was told pinion bearing. i had the whole k frame out, diff out, fresh oil new bearings and now shes all back togeather and driving fine... BUT the whine remains...
can it be anything other than the centre bearing on the tailshaft?
i know the diff is perfectly set so nothing wrong there and the counter weight on the back felt firm and without play... has to be that centre bearing right?
