BA Fairmont dual climate control. d/s all works great heater or air con, p/s regardless of temp setting only cold air. all vents & settings good just no heat p/s.
On my last fairlane heater would not get hot, took it to mechanic, he pressed climate control buttons for about ten seconds,(didn't pay attention, thought he was just checking it) heater was fine after. asked him what he did, he said he reset it. May be same problem, seems strange one side works perfect. |

HIM Shaft is broken. Common fault.

Good advice from 67RCE, here is a doc you can look at and see it is NOT an easy job.

I think I maybe having the same issue. My air con etc all works fine. However the heater is s**t.
I converted over the dual zone set up from the standard set up. My standard set up was awesome. Could I have the same issue? Does anyone know what sort of cost is involved in fixing this issue? I took my car to epping bayford and they said it was fine. And charged me $120 1hr labour bloody pricks! |

The guys are Ford said its all working fine and the HIM is not a problem. I have no idea about this stuff. Can anyone recommend a good auto elec in Melbourne who can diagnose such issues? |

Got the same thing happening with my G6E at the moment. Not even a year out of warranty, unimpressed!! Will get it looked at during the 75k service (at 71k now) but assuming it's the same issue.

Sorry to keep hijacking this thread!
But just a quick update. I played around with the ICC settings on my BA again and found when the put the heater on and have the vents on (to the face and feet) the heater works fine. However if I turn on the heater and select the vent towards the feet only the car does not warm up. What could be causing this? |
