Hi all,

I've decided to give my diff a clean up.. so I've pulled it out.. I'm gonna paint the outside.. change the handbrake shoes and the pads and give it a general clean up.

When I did my gearbox I only found about about transmaxZ after I'd already put castrol gear oil in the box so it was too late.

This time I want to know what the best oil for a BW LSD diff before I do it so I don't buy the wrong stuff.

Is there any else I can do? the diff makes no noise and it has no significant slop.. but I'd like to keep it that way.

suggestions == welcome.

Penrite Pro Gear LSD oil...I use it in the LSD in my AU V8 ute and I've never had any problems.

You might as well take the diff hat off.

Redline synthetic works a treat: http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=134&pcid=4. The local Ford dealership uses this in Falcons as most noisy diff problems disappear.

Nulon ls90. Ford Motorsport also makes a nice additive which improves the performance.

I had a voucher for 100 bucks from AutoOne so I went there to get the redline and the guy said they didn't keep it in stock as it was too expensive and didn't sell much.

I ended up getting the Penrite Limslip and some coolant for my 100 bucks. The guy said it was a synthetic and cost about $59 from memory.

cheers
