Hi,

An XR front would be nice, but many parts are no longer available and it is quite a big job. It would also make the car more of a target for thieves. The Twinlight will give you good legal lights, that will be able to be aimed properly. If you paint the housing silver metallic it will look a bit like the normal headlight. Do you want to see where you are going or would you prefer it to look nice ?

Regards 96ELGli

I want both....lol....if I go for the twinlight style front I'll definatley source Genuine XR.

What brand are the non-gen headlights?
DEPO? TYC?

There's a non genuine way thats relatively cheap and easy. They're inserts that bolt into the non xr front bar to make them look like the XR. It's not exactly the same. I don't remember the site but if you google twinlights it should come up.. sydney based, I think.

the twinlight setups look horrible. My brother ended up with a EA-ED twinlight setup that was a ED XR knock off. s**t fibreglass moulds, homeless looking brackets, and the headlights looked like sealed beam units lol, no projector low beam

I think projector low beam was always an 'option' on the twinlights. Cost more though so most people didn't get it.
I've seen some twinlights with projectors, but they are few and far between.

The only decent "twinlights" are the ones designed for XF/XG models, as they look pretty much the same as the genuine XR ones.
