I think its the questions and not thinking first mate. 4.11 is very low low for a 6speed. I wouldnt even put them into my ef on the street.

ok so something like 3.45 would be more acceptable for a road car. what i want to find out what diff ratio to use to get in the 13's and a every day drive with around 200 rw kw. i am currently driving my fathers 2004 ba xt 4 speed but am thinking of a bf xr6 with the 6 speed for my p's.

So do you currently have this car? Or just asking for the future?

No problem asking questions. Just that we get the same s**t every school holidays. I take it you are still at school. Do you realise what it will cost you to get an NA BF XR6 tp 200RwKw and into the 13 sec bracket?

I pretty sure that 4.11 gears were originally for cars running 30-inch or taller slicks, a long first gear, and wanting to hit the end of the quarter-mile doing almost redline in top gear. Probably not very practical for a street car on 25-26 inch tyres running a 4.17 first gear (that's 17.1 turns of the crank for one turn of the axle). Even the 2.39 first gear of the BTR 4-speed can get a good launch with only 3.9 gears (9.3 crank to axle ratio). Anything more than 3.45 with the ZF, and the car will probably be ahead of the engine, waiting for the revs to catch up
