I asume that the car is idling high.
While the car is running, pour water over the flange where the manifold bolts to the head. If the idle improves, ie: revs drop, then the gasket is leaking, if not look elsewhere. |

Also if you use that method to check, if the leak is big enough when the water hits it you can often hear it

As the guys said.. Water over where the flange sits between intake manifold and engine.. I just used a spray bottle and listened for the one that sounded different.. ended up being the first one closest to the front of the car.
I used the instructions here: http://www.trueblueford.com/discussion_ ... php?t=4513 Good luck.. It's a pain in the butt job. The bottom bolt closest to the firewall was the hardest one. Also don't forget to take note the bolts vary in size and its a good idea to put them back how they came out. |
