Hi there. I've put a basic turbo setup on an el 6 and I can't keep the boost at a steady level. I have just fitted what I was told was a 7 pound spring to the wastegate. It felt a lot softer and still boosts up to 16 pounds. Also have a j3 chip for it. Anyone recommend someone to tune it for me. Thanks heaps

Sounds like the gate isn't bypassing enough. What size and angle is it mounted?

It's a 40 mm wastegate and it's mounted on the bottom of the manifold in front of the turbo between 1 and 2

It's a typical log manifold and I have no idea what brand the gate is. It came in a plain white box with no paperwork and no markings or branding on it at all. So yeah no idea.

Often people have troubles when the gate is mounted at 90 degrees. Try taking the spring out and see if it still makes boost, if so gate would need repositioning etc. Check its opening properly with compressed air first.
