Just wondering what if any issues/gains there would be with fitting a Tickford cam into a standard head? Would the valve springs handle the cam?

I had one in a standard head, springs handled it fine, and there was no noticable gains from it except mine seemed to idle a little bit smoother

Ok I've brought a new cam for my motor which has the T head so was thinking of putting the cam into the mrs wagon. She already has the xr ecu and fuel reg so if the head will handle it I would have thought between the 3 of them it would run alright.

it would work better with the reg and ecu, but the xr's on had an extra 7kw and that was with the head too. there will be no harm in putting it in.

You won't feel much, if any, difference. I tried it on my stock EL motor with standard ECU and fuel reg on an auto...meh.

When I put the xr ecu into the mrs falcon it seemed to have made a bit of a difference in the way of throttle response and better pickup. It holds gears longer as the ecu is set for 3.45 diff gears were the mrs wagon has a 3.08 diff, it may take a toll on the gearbox but with regular servicing it may last longer.

Will throw it in any way as I no longer need it and she already has the ecu and fuel reg so might as well have the cam as well. Maybe when I get a better head ill give her the Ticky head than she'll be set.
