I'm installing an aftermarket HU and I've searched the forums but not all my wires seem to match what has been posted previously.

And before you ask, I'm not bothering with the Aerpro plug'n'play cables because the factory HU plug was cut off by someone else..... :(

According to the crappy Haynes manual, the wire for telephone mute should be light green but there isn't one. Similarly, the front left speaker should be hooked up with an orange/light green and an orange/black. So I had a look at the front left speaker and sure enough it's hooked up to an orange/light green and an orange/black but the wiring loom (that i unplugged from the factory HU) has two orange/black wires and one plain orange - WTF?! The steering wheel control should be a red/white wire but there isn't one of those either. I also have a plain white wire and a red/black wire that I have no idea what they're for.

So basically, I've got orange, white, orange/black, red/black wires that I can't work out what they're for. And I'm slowly losing my mind...

Go to a U-PULL-IT. Cut the plug of same model ford leaving enough cable on the plug u want to be able to solder n heat shrink back to your existing cut cables the just buy an aeropro plug in so much easier than diagnosing what's what 8-)

Mobile phone wires are a separate plug.

Note the right column plug numbers.
